Vanuatu suspends Car Registrations - Cook Islands takes up the business
The government of Vanuatu have recently suspended indefinitely all car, yacht and plane registrations for non-residents. As an alternative, the Cook Islands are now offering a similar program.
Cook Islands Vehicle Registration is possible for most types of passenger vehicles, including small trucks and motorcycles. Requirements are very simple. The entire procedure may be carried out over the internet, with the plates being delivered to you by DHL courier.
Vehicles may be registered under your personal name, or under the name of an offshore company created specially for the purpose (ask us for a quote). In the latter case, you will receive a document notarized in the Cook Islands, stating that you are allowed to drive the car anywhere in the world. It will appear that you are an employee of the Cook Islands Corporation, driving the company car.
