Should anyone inquire about you with the agency, they will be told that you are indeed an accredited journalist and a legitimate, registered holder of the agency's international Press Pass. Technically, that makes you a freelancer (as is the vast majority of professional journalists, by the way) – meaning that you've got the best of two worlds: no need to actually produce journalistic work unless you want to, while enjoying the same or similar benefits as all your newfound “colleagues”.
If people ask you directly which media you are working for exactly, you can reply quite truthfully that you are a freelancer doing independent research work and that you are accredited with a foreign press agency.
Do I have to write an article or something, to qualify for this Press Pass?
You may do so, of course, but you don't need to. All you have to do is state on your application form that you are pursuing journalistic interests. This declaration is not legally binding for you in any way and it will not be doublechecked by the agency. They are very relaxed about people and simply trust you not to feed them any false data.
